Porto has so many beautiful photo opportunities to offer. Here are our favorite Instagram spots in the city.
Cais de Ribeira
Das bunte Hafenviertel Ribeira liegt im historischen Zentrum der Stadt, das zum UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe gehört. Tolle Motive findet ihr an der Uferpromenade Cais de Ribeira. Schaut hier am besten vor 9.00 Uhr morgens vorbei, denn die Souvenirläden und Lokale ziehen viele Touristen an.
The colorful waterfront district is located in the historic center of the city, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Great motifs can be found on the waterfront Cais de Ribeira. It’s best to stop by before 9.00 am, because souvenir shops and restaurants attract many tourists.
Ponte Dom Luís
Ein Spaziergang über die Dom Luís Brücke ist ein Muss. Von dort habt ihr eine tolle Sicht auf Ribeira und die Boote, die am Ufer des Duoro liegen. Am schönsten ist die Sicht zum Sonnenuntergang. Die Brücke könnt ihr von der Terrasse der Seilbahn fotografieren. Auf dem Grashügel, der von Palmen umsäumt ist, genießen die Portugiesen mit einer Flasche Portwein den Sonnenuntergang.
A walk across the Dom Luís Bridge is a must. From there you have a great view of Ribeira and the boats that lie on the shore. Make sure to stop by at sunset. You can take a picture of the bridge and Ribeira from the cable car terrace. On the grassy hill surrounded by palm trees, the Portuguese enjoy the sunset with a bottle of port wine.
Cais de Gaia
Von der Uferpromenade habt ihr eine wunderschöne Aussicht auf Ribeira und den Aufbau der Häuser, die sich wie bunte Bauklötze aufeinander stapeln. Auf dem Duoro schaukeln die kleinen Portweinboote (barcos rabelos) im Vordergrund. Diese Seite des Ufers ist etwas weniger überlaufen als Cais de Ribeira. Wer den Hügel bis nach oben spaziert, kann durch das „Calem“ Schild ein Foto von Ribeira machen.
From the waterfront you have a beautiful view of Ribeira and the architecture of the houses, which stack up like colorful blocks on each other. On the water, the small port boats (barcos rabelos) swing in the foreground. This side of the shore is a little less crowded. If you walk up the hill, you can take a picture of Ribeira through the „Calem“ sign.
Capela das Almas
Die Fassade der Capela das Almas in der Rua de Santa Catarina 428 eignet sich für schöne Porträtfotos oder „Stridebys“. Wer hier ein Bild ergattern will, muss Geduld mitbringen. Oft stehen die Touristen hier Schlange. Die blauen Fliesen (Azujelos) findet ihr sonst noch im in der São Bento Station, in der Kathedrale Sé do Porto, an der Igreja do Carmo, oder in der Casa da Música.
The façade of the Capela das Almas in the Rua de Santa Catarina 428 is perfect for portrait photos or „Stridebys„. If you want to get a picture here, be patient. Sometimes tourists are queuing up here to take a a photo. The blue tiles (Azujelos) can be found in the São Bento Station, the Sé do Porto Cathedral, the Igreja do Carmo or the Casa da Música.
Rua das Taipas
Auf der Kreuzung an der Rua das Taipas könnt ihr schöne Street Photography Aufnahmen machen. Die Sonne steht im Frühling am späten Nachmittag perfekt, um die Häuserfassaden zu umspielen. Ihr müsst nur hoffen, dass kein Auto auf der Straße parkt.
At the intersection at Rua das Taipas you can take beautiful street photography shots. In spring the sun is perfect in the late afternoon to play around the house facades. You just have to hope that no car is parked on the street.
Weitere Tipps / More tips
Tolle Motive findet ihr noch in der São Bento Station, auf der Terasse der Se Catedral, Igreja do Carmo, und auf dem Markt Mercado do Bolhão. Auf dem Markt lassen sich schöne Fotos inszenieren. Achtet darauf, dass die Markthändler einverstanden sind. Auch in den kleinen Gassen gilt: Nehmt Rücksicht auf die Anwohner.
We can also reccomend the view from the terrace at Se Catedral, São Bento station, Igreja do Carmo, and at the market Mercado do Bolhão. Beautiful pictures can be staged on the market. Don’t forget to respect the privacy of the market traders and other visitors. Always respect the residents in the little alleys.
